Completion of E4D programme in Kenya

The E4D programme was successfully completed in end of June 2023. The programme aimed at promoting local employment and addressing skills gaps in seven countries by building the capacities of jobseekers, employees, enterprises and training institutions. E4D's target groups included economically disadvantaged populations, such as women and youth. The programme successfully took through training up to 960 youth in courses like arc welding, electrical installation, simple automation and lathe machine operation. The E4D programme was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the private sector partners Sasol and Quoniam. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH was responsible for project implementation.
